Hilaria Baldwin Says Husband Alec ‘Got Angry’ When She Gave Him This Ultimatum About His Daughter Ireland

Hilaria Baldwin recently shared a personal story about her early relationship with Alec Baldwin and his daughter, Ireland. On the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Hilaria said that before she even met Ireland, she told Alec, “If she doesn’t like me, I’m not going to stay.” Alec didn’t like hearing that and got angry. Hilaria added, “He still gets mad when I say it now.” But for her, protecting the family was more important than continuing the relationship.

Hilaria explained that she always wanted to be respectful of Alec’s family. She said, “It’s Alec, Ireland, and Kim [Ireland’s mom]. I’m just a guest. If I’m welcomed, great. But I won’t try to take over.” She made it clear that she would never try to replace Kim Basinger, Alec’s ex-wife, and that she wanted to support the family, not change it.

Thankfully, Ireland was very kind and welcoming from the beginning. Hilaria said that Ireland saw how much she cared about Alec and the family. Over time, they built a strong bond. “I came into her life when she was 15 or 16,” Hilaria said. “I was always clear—I’m here to support her when she needs me.”

Ireland also said she looks up to Hilaria and is proud of her for joining Dancing With the Stars. “She respected me, accepted my flaws, and showed me kindness,” Ireland wrote. “I met her as a teenager and I needed her as an example. I still look up to her now.” Hilaria replied in the comments, “I’m crying. I love you with all my heart. You mean so much to me.”
